Default Vegetable Shortening?

On my out and abouts trying to russle up enough stock to start messing around with bio, I came across a nice stock of vegetable shortening. Now it is solid state again. But if I head it to processes it and after the wash it obviously will stay liquid right?

Does anyone have a good link on how to make bio from shortening.. or is that a whole new ball game?

Thanks..

Ron
